If your question is about a specific house or suite, the quote form is faster than a generic inbox.

How far do you travel from Rockland?

We regularly work within about 80 miles of Rockland, Massachusetts ù and only in Massachusetts cities and towns. That covers the South Shore, much of Greater Boston, Worcester and the Cape. If your address is near the edge of that radius, tell us ù we will say so if the trip does not make sense for the size of the job.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. Smartline is licensed and insured in Massachusetts: Home Improvement Contractor HIC #220615 and Construction Supervisor License CSL-123737. We have more than 10 years of experience in residential and commercial construction. If a project requires additional trade licenses or engineering, we coordinate that before work starts.

Do you work on both homes and commercial buildings?

Yes. We take residential general contracting and remodeling as well as commercial interiors, retail build-outs, offices and multi-family renovations.

How do I get a quote?

Use the Get a Free Quote form, call (781) 964-2987, or text (781) 468-8702. Photos and a clear description of the property help. We review the request, contact you, and schedule a visit when the job needs measurements on site.

Do I need to be home for the first visit?

For most remodels, yes — we need access and a chance to ask how you use the space. For some exterior-only work we can start with photos and a curb visit, then confirm details with you.

Can you pull permits?

We coordinate permits and inspections with the city or town that has jurisdiction. Requirements differ between Rockland, Boston, Quincy and other municipalities; we confirm the path before demolition.

Do you handle insurance restoration?

Yes. Fire, water and other insurance restoration is part of our work. We document the property with photos, measurements and notes so the reconstruction and the claim describe the same scope.

What should I prepare before you visit?

A list of what has to change, any previous drawings, and photos of the rooms or exterior. If this property had work done before, even years ago, mention it — we keep project history so a second quote is not starting from zero.

Do you work with homeowners who speak Portuguese or Spanish?

The public website is available in English, Portuguese (Brazil) and Spanish. Call or text and tell us your preferred language. The office can work with you in Portuguese.

How do payments work?

The quote is written. Invoices follow the work — a first payment as stated on the paperwork, then progress as the job actually moves, and a balance at punch list. We do not take a large cash deposit with nothing on paper. How you pay is printed on the invoice.

What warranty do you give?

We stand behind the workmanship we perform. If something we built is not right, we inspect it and correct what we built. Manufacturer warranties on materials we install — windows, decking, and the like — pass through to you. Any extra coverage is written into the quote before work starts. We do not publish invented warranty years on this site.

How do you keep the house usable during a remodel?

The rest of the house still has to function. We protect floors, contain dust where the work allows, cover HVAC returns when the job is making dust, and leave the site broom-clean at the end of the day. On exterior work we stack materials so you can still use the driveway when we can, and we protect plantings next to the work.

How long does a typical job take?

It depends on the scope, the town’s inspections, and how long materials take to arrive. A set of stairs is a different calendar than a kitchen that still has to feed the household. The written quote includes a schedule we can actually work. We do not post fake week-counts for every trade on this site.

Who do I call once the crew is on site?

You have one office contact. Questions about schedule, inspections or a change go there — not through five subcontractors. The number on the quote and on this site is the number we answer: (781) 964-2987, or text (781) 468-8702.

Can you work from an architect’s or designer’s drawings?

Yes. If you already have drawings, we bid them, flag what the town will ask for, and build to that set. If you do not have a designer, we still measure, photograph and write a scope you can sign.

What if the inspector wants something extra?

Then the scope changes in writing. We do not hide an inspection item inside a handshake. If the town requires more than the quote assumed, we tell you before we do the extra work.

Do you clean up at the end of each day?

As far as a job site allows: tools stacked, debris bagged or hauled, and you should be able to walk the rest of the house. The punch list includes a proper clean — not just a broom pass in the last hour.
